What a difference a month makes.

1. Angels getting better.At the beginning of May, people were wringing hands and getting frantic when talking about the Angels. I did a little looking around and figured I'd find out what the records are starting on August 1st, within my division:

Baltimore Orioles*: 26 - 18

Tampa Bay Rays: 25 - 19

New York Yankees: 24 - 21

Boston Red Sox: 23 - 21

Toronto Blue Jays: 21 - 23

Even though their 17-10 August was the first time they had won that month since 1997, the Orioles have become the first team in baseball to be mathematically eliminated from the post-season! My prediction of September 5 was ultimately a little too kind, but it was still a pretty good guess, if I do say so.
